Allison B. Taylor, PhD, MSW, is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at UMass Boston, where she specializes in qualitative and community-based research and evaluation. Her work focuses on how lived experience can shape and improve services and systems, drawing from her background in sociocultural anthropology and clinical social work. She is the principal investigator (PI) for a community-based collaborative project that aims to enhance employment opportunities for youth with disabilities. She has worked on a number of other projects at ICI, including vocational rehabilitation (VR) model demonstrations, as well as research and capacity building with Langston University and the Institute for New England Native American Studies (INENAS). She was also awarded a 2020 NIDILRR Switzer research fellowship to study trauma-informed approaches in centers for independent living. Allison earned a PhD in sociocultural anthropology from Brandeis University, an MSW from Boston University, and a BA in clinical psychology from Tufts University.
